About us
NV is a family run boutique candle company based in the tiny picturesque village of Newton near Cambridge. The company was set up by sisters Nicola and Victoria, the N & V in NV.
Not all candles are made equal, so what makes us different?
Wax. For us the starting point has to be the quality of our wax. We use eco-soy wax which is renewable, sustainable, biodegradable and environmentally friendly, made using soy beans from family run farms. When you buy an NV candle you are supporting sustainable agriculture. Apart from the feel good factor, soy wax allows candles to burn cooler and slower so they last longer, it is excellent for scent throw and burns cleaner so no more black soot-stained walls.
Diffuser Base. We use a new and exciting solvent for all our diffusers which is made from soy based renewable resources. Unlike some other diffuser bases, ours evaporates fully and does not have the metallic or chemical odour associated with other bases. It is non-toxic and has a low carbon footprint.
Wicks. We use natural cotton wicks which have been specifically chosen to match their container. This means that, if you look after your candle, it will burn cleanly all the way to the bottom of the glass without making a well down the middle.
Fragrance. Next, our fragrance. We use high quality, concentrated fragrances from the UK’s leading perfumers. Our fragrances are complex in nature and combine many scents to create interesting and well-rounded aromas. We use a high percentage of fragrance in all our products, mixed thoroughly, so no disappointing tail off of over time.
Passion. And finally, our passion and dedication to making the best quality scented gifts. We make our candles in small batches so when they reach you they are as fresh as possible. Nothing leaves our workshop without being quality checked.
